Leading Into New Communities, Inc. (LINC, Inc.) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that provides transitional living and case management services to meet the immediate needs of men and women returning from prison and culturally specific youth development services for African American young men ages 16-24.  LINC, Inc.'s mission is to educate and motivate youth to make positive life choices and to empower men and women returning from incarceration to be productive members of our community.  The Milestones Dinner serves as an opportunity to increase awareness of the positive impact of LINC’s programs in the community.

The mission of the Blue Ribbon Commission is to connect youth with pathways to succeed by.   The organization strives to meet their goals through reducing youth violence and positive social and youth development activities

The High School Mock Trial Competition educates North Carolina High School students about our system of justice and trial by jury by turning courtrooms into classrooms and connecting students with attorneys and judges in the hands-on learning laboratory of the courthouse.  It helps students build analytical reasoning abilities and communication skills that go hand in hand with confidence, teamwork, leadership and other qualities crucial to students' futures.  Harrison participated as a juror, and appreciated the opportunity to witness the product of the students’ hard work and enthusiastic efforts

Boy Scouts of America strives to make a positive impact on the lives of young men in our community by teaching confidence and teamwork and instilling important values such as character, leadership, patriotism, and integrity.  The fundraising luncheon for the local chapter of Boy Scouts of America featured former N.C. State basketball star Dereck Whittenburg as guest speaker.  

Lawyers for Literacy consists of judges, attorneys, paralegals and law students who spend 30 minutes a week for a minimum of 4 weeks with 2-4 students who have been selected by their teacher for additional help to improve their reading skills. Volunteers share their time, love of reading and knowledge of Civics, U.S. History and biographies of American heroes. Lawyers for Literacy has not only helped these young students with reading skills, it has sparked their interest in non-fiction books in general.  Harrison began volunteering for the program in October of 2016 and is looking forward to another great semester with the participants.

This five course dinner presented by Chef Dean Neff of Pinpoint Restaurant will feature local ingredients and historic recipes from the museum archive and will be served in the formal parlors of the city’s most iconic home. The Bellamy Mansion of History and Design Arts is a non-profit educational institution dedicated to interpreting the social and architectural history of the Bellamy Mansion and promoting a greater understanding of historic preservation, architectural history and restoration methods in North Carolina.  Craige & Fox, PLLC also proudly sponsors Preservation Celebrations hosted by the Bellamy Mansion throughout the year.

Celebrity chef Giada DeLaurentis hosted this fundraiser to benefit the Girls Leadership Academy of Wilmington (G.L.O.W.), a 6th – 12th grade single gender school modeled after the successful Young Women’s Leadership Schools.....opened in the fall of 2016 with 100 6th grade girls and is a free North Carolina public charter school.

Award winning writer and environmentalist David Gessner spoke at the event. The mission of the Coastal Land Trust is to enrich the coastal communities of North Carolina through conservation of natural areas and working landscapes, education and the promotion of good land stewardship.  Noel is a former Board member of the North Carolina Coastal Land Trust. 

The CLE titled “Elephant in the Room: Disposition of Qualified Plans and IRA’s” focused on the different ways an individual may leave a Qualified Plan or IRA to his or her loved ones through a trust.  The presentation also included strategies to name a Special Needs Trust as the beneficiary of an IRA.
