Ashley and her fellow Board members met at Tek Mountain to develop their annual strategic plan for DREAMS, a national award-winning nonprofit organization dedicated to creating a culture of confidence in local youth development through the arts by providing free programming in the areas of literacy, visual multimedia and performing arts.  Ashley was appointed to the DREAMS' Board of Directors in 2016.

This event at the Coastline Convention Center included a panel discussion on "Work-Life  Balance: Myth or Reality?" and an expo featuring products and services of interest to women.

A Safe Place is an empowerment organization focusing on prevention, advocacy and restoration to assist victims of commercial sexual exploitation and domestic minor sex trafficking that services the Southeast region of North Carolina. 

The ceremony took place at the Wilmington Chamber of Commerce building and featured acknowledgements from Wilmington Mayor Bill Saffo and Wilmington Planning Board Chair Deb Hayes.  The reception gave the Leadership Wilmington Class of 2017 the opportunity to welcome and get to know the incoming Leadership Class of 2018.

Ashley and other Collaborative Law attorneys and colleagues from the Triangle Area met to develop a plan to better educate North Carolina citizens on the growing trend of Collaborative Law Divorce.

The Board of Directors of Friends of Public Radio, Inc. holds the FCC license for WHQR.  WHQR is a non-profit public radio station known for unique performances, solid programming and community spirit in southeastern North Carolina.

Coastal Collaborative Colleagues is an interdisciplinary group of specially trained professionals committed to providing an alternative to the traditional adversarial court process for resolving divorce and family law disputes. Ashley practices domestic and juvenile Collaborative Law and is a founding member of this nonprofit organization created in 2012

This CLE was offered by Power to the People whose mission is to empower attorneys with practical and relevant information that will directly impact their practice and their ability to provide high-quality legal services to their clients

The topics covered in the CLE on Nonprofit Board Governance for Lawyers included (1) good governance for nonprofit lawyers; (2) the public charity life cycle; (3) governance and state law; (4) investment and financial management oversight; (5) executive compensation; and (6) lawyers serving on nonprofit boards.  According to Harrison, “The CLE covered a range of topics important to any lawyer advising nonprofit corporations, and I keep in mind the information and perspectives provided in the CLE when I advise my community association clients.”

Legal Aid of North Carolina is a statewide, nonprofit law firm that provides free legal services in civil matters to low-income people in order to ensure equal access to justice and to remove legal barriers to economic opportunity
