Ashley practices Collaborative Divorce Law and is a founding member of Coastal Collaborative Colleagues, a non-profit interdisciplinary group of specially trained professionals committed to providing an alternative to the traditional adversarial court process for resolving divorce and family law disputes.

This annual event at the Coastline Conference Events Center celebrates the efforts of the Historic Wilmington Foundation and supporters to preserve and protect the irreplaceable resources of the Lower Cape Fear Region.  Lawrence S. Craige is a past president of the Historic Wilmington Foundation.

Jennifer co-presented with California Attorney Dani Kaiserman and Maryland Attorney Jessica Hall on their paper "Protection and Recovery for Cognitively Impaired Victims of Financial Elder Abuse".  The presentation covered protective measures to prevent financial elder abuse, and the civil and criminal remedies available to victims of financial elder abuse.

The presentation focused on the areas of retirement that do not focus on finances

Ashley and other Collaborative Law attorneys and North Carolina colleagues from Greenville, Charlotte, Asheville and the Triangle Area met to develop a plan to better educate the North Carolina citizens on Collaborative Law Divorce

Noel Fox is the Town Attorney for Carolina Beach and Holden Beach.

Jennifer had the opportunity to speak with law students interested in practicing in the areas of Elder and Special Needs Law.

The Key Note Speaker for the event was Shannon Miller, 7-time Olympic gymnast medalist.  She Rocks is a non-profit organization formed to bring awareness and attention to ovarian cancer through funding research and helping women who are undergoing treatment for cancer.

The New Hanover County Bar Association is committed to promoting a closer union and fellowship among the participating attorneys of New Hanover County.  Its objectives include informing the public on the work of the legal professional and promoting the ethics of the profession.  Events such as the Fall Social, held this year at Palate Bottle Shop & Reserve, promote a closer union and fellowship among the local Bar members by offering them an opportunity to spend more time together outside of the courtroom or the office.

Attendees discussed the latest techniques to develop business, enhance the rainmaking skills the attorney may have, and encourage the attorneys to network with women who have similar interests.  The seminar focused on Niche Marketing and how to identify and target ideal clients.
