Ashley Michael

Ashley (Goins) Michael was born in Lynchburg, Virginia but has been a North Carolinian since the early 1980s. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in 1999 from the University of North Carolina at Asheville, was a Dean's List graduate and an Ambassador to the City of Asheville from 1996-1999. In 2006, she graduated from the Appalachian School of Law in Virginia receiving her Juris Doctorate. She was an Associate Editor of the Appalachian Journal of Law and a member of the Moot Court Board while in law school. She also was President of the Legal Fraternity, Phi Delta Phi. Ashley was admitted to the North Carolina State Bar in September of 2006. Her primary areas of practice include: Family, Juvenile and Guardianship law in New Hanover, Pender, Onslow and Brunswick Counties. She is a North Carolina DRC Mediator and enjoys performing mediation in Custody matters and Family Financial cases.

Ashley is a member of the New Hanover County and North Carolina Bar Associations (member of the Family Law Bar Section). She is a board member of the New Hanover County Juvenile Crime Prevention Council and Dreams of Wilmington.  She also is a member of the International Association of Collaborative Professionals and a founding member of a non-profit organization, Coastal Collaborative Colleagues, committed to “doing divorce differently” in providing an alternative to litigation in Domestic matters for citizens in/around the Cape Fear area ( Ashley also enjoys volunteer work and/or supports the Good Shepherd shelter, March of Dimes, GHA Autism Supports, Open Gate shelter for battered women and children and the New Hanover County Lawyers for Literacy program.

Ashley is the mother of two children and wife to Garron Michael, Esq. She enjoys spending time with her children, reading, hiking, visiting family and traveling.
