The MDA Toast to Life Gala raises funds to promote a more localized approach to research and clinical trials in New Hanover County, North Carolina for muscular dystrophy, ALS and other related muscle-debilitating diseases.

Jennifer Roden attended the 40th Annual Duke University Estate Planning conference held at Duke University on October 11, 2018 and October 12, 2018

This year's conference covered topics from updates after the passage of the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act of 2017; planning for beneficiaries with special needs; drafting durable powers of attorney under the new Uniform Power of Attorney Act; and working with IRA custodians.

Ashley Michael attended a Board meeting with the North Carolina Collaborative Attorney Network (NC-CAN) in Raleigh on October 4

Board members met to design their public service announcement to educate North Carolina citizens about Collaborative Divorce as an alternative dispute resolution legal model utilizing interest-based negotiation to resolve family law issues.  NC-CAN, a non-profit organization and trade association, was established in 2017 to provide training, workshops and educational materials to attorneys, court systems and private citizens interested in Collaborative Divorce.  Ashley is a founding member and continues to serve on the Board of Directors.   To learn more about the mission of NC-CAN, visit
