Jennifer Roden is a Certified Elder Law Attorney

Elder Law attorneys are certified by the Board of Certification of the National Elder Law Foundation (NELF), a nonprofit organization founded in 1993.  The certification program identifies those lawyers who have the specialized knowledge, skills, experience, and proficiency to resolve issues that affect older people.  The NELF has an alliance with the North Carolina State Bar Board of Legal Specialization to allow qualifying lawyers to take one examination in seeking certification by both organizations.  Each program has its own experience,  education, peer review and examination requirements.

Noel Fox and Jennifer Roden attended a seminar titled, “Long Term Care: Do you have a gap in your strategy?” at The Murchison Group of Wells Fargo Advisors on June 26, 2019

Jennifer Roden attended the Coastal Women Attorneys (CWA) continuing legal education (CLE) and luncheon at City Club on May 31, 2019

Attorney Janice L. Davies presented on the North Carolina Uniform Power of Attorney Act: Review, Corrections, Drafting and Practice Tips.  The CWA is a chapter of the North Carolina Association of Women Attorneys (NCAWA) and provides CLE events and networking opportunities for women attorneys in our area.

Ashley Michael presented “How to Prepare an Adoption Petition” for Continuing Legal Education (CLE) via webinar on May 30, 2019

In this CLE, facilitated by Law to The People as part of their "How to Series", Ashley Michael presented a 1.5 hour webinar for attorneys across the state.  Law to the People offers CLE courses throughout North Carolina.  Ashley has practiced Adoption Law for over 12 years in North Carolina to provide more than 500 adopted children with legal permanency.

Ashley Michael and her Coastal Collaborative Colleagues (CCC) attended annual Collaborative Divorce training at the offices of Craige & Fox, PLLC on May 24, 2019

Ashley-Nicole Russell, Esq. introduced her book, The Cure for Divorce Culture, and provided continuing legal education in the following areas: managing a collaborative practice, providing and identifying resources for you collaborative divorce clients, stopping litigation, educating the the non-collaborative spouse, and finding a successful work-life balance.  Annual training provides CCC, a non-profit interdisciplinary practice group, with the opportunity to improve the quality of their skills and the resources available to the parties they serve.
