The National Society of the Colonial Dames hosted this fundraiser benefitting the Burgwin-Wright House and Gardens.  Noel Fox is a member of the National Society of Colonial Dames.

The attorneys and staff of Craige & Fox, PLLC volunteered on March 24, 2017 to pack 140 weekend bags for the NourishNC Backpack Program

The mission of NourishNC is to provide healthy food to hungry children, empowering them to succeed in the classroom and their community.  The Backpack Program provides K-5 children  with  8 meals, 2 snacks and fresh produce (apples, oranges, sweet potatoes, avocado, etc.) every weekend. Backpacks are delivered to the schools where social workers or family counselors then discreetly put the food bags into the children’s backpacks.

Harrison B. Freedland attended the Leadership Wilmington Learning Session on Growth, Development and Major Industry on March 21st, 2017

The seventh Leadership Wilmington Class of 2017 learning session focused on growth and development issues facing the Wilmington region.  Presenters included Chris O’Keefe, Planning and Inspections Director of New Hanover County; Ed Wolverton, Executive Director of Wilmington Downtown, Inc.; Jason Swinny, Plant Manager of GE Aviation; and Donald Croteau, CEO of Vertex Rail.  Harrison enjoyed touring the facilities of PPD, GE Aviation, and Vertex Rail, and learning how those and other companies contribute to Wilmington’s economy and culture.

Harrison B. Freedland attended the Wilmington Chamber of Commerce’s 150th Annual Meeting on March 14th, 2017

The 150th Annual Meeting of the Wilmington Chamber of Commerce was held on March 14th, 2017 at Cape Fear Community College’s Union Station.  North Carolina Governor Roy Cooper gave the keynote address, and Wilmington Chamber of Commerce Chairman Charlie Mattox and newly appointed Wilmington Chamber President & CEO Natalie English discussed their vision for the Chamber and areas of focus.  Representatives from the advertising and marketing firm Eckel & Vaughan unveiled the creative aspects of the Chamber’s regional marketing initiative, including the tagline and logo that will launch during the Wells Fargo Championship in May.
